This region is very beautiful and interesting to visit and explore. It is dominated by the Serra da Estrela, the highest mountain range in mainland Portugal (1996 m). It is unique with its huge granite cliffs and spectacular views, ideal for a day trip or hike, a swim at one of the picturesque river beaches on a hot sunny day or a visit to the many rustic mountain villages. You can also go horse riding in the area, kayaking on the Mondego, go-karting or rent a bike to cycle along an old railroad track along the Dão. The large cities of Coimbra and Viseu are an hour's drive from the campsite and are definitely worth a visit. Oliveira do Hospital is the nearest town with all amenities and is located 10 kilometers away. Here you will find several supermarkets, hairdressing salons, restaurants and pharmacies. For a smaller local minimercado, visit Meruge or Lagares da Beira, 2.7 km and 3.7 km away respectively. The campsite is licensed for 30 pitches for motorhomes, caravans and tents, 90 pitches in total. There are 3 permanent bungalows and 2 permanent cabins on the lower pitch. The campsite has 1 sanitary building with 3 showers, 3 toilets and 3 washbasins for men and women. There are sinks with hot water at the side of the sanitary building. The campsite also has a service area for motorhomes. The campsite has a saltwater swimming pool (56 m2) and a playground for the little ones. There is a professional kitchen with stainless steel worktops and a bar with a liquor license. The bar also serves as reception. Adjacent to the bar is an outdoor terrace surrounded by an exotic-looking garden. At the front of the main building you enter a beautiful courtyard with outbuildings and 2 toilets. Today, the outbuildings are mainly used to store supplies. There is also a building on the site for storing tools and machinery, a pizza oven, a store for firewood and 2 cabins for volunteers. The campsite is ready for occupancy, meets all (safety) requirements and has all the necessary permits. The guests in high season are mainly Flemish, Dutch, English, German and Portuguese. The campsite is run by a dedicated couple who are assisted by volunteers in the high season. The owner's house (72m2) consists of 3 large bedrooms, a small room, a toilet and a separate bathroom. It is located on the second floor above the store. For those looking to reorient themselves and take over a thriving business in a great location, this is an excellent opportunity. If required, the owner will be on hand to offer advice and assistance to the new campsite managers to ensure a smooth new start.
