... over the green valley below. An extremely quite atmosphere as basically no cars pass by. In Calatafimi, given is few kilometers away from the sea, prices are more convenient and the atmosphere is "real-, the villagers are incredibly welcoming and nice. In summer the weather is cooler than on the seaside where instead gets pretty sticky and humid. The village is located 320 m above the sea level, so its fresh and breezy at night even in August. The 3 storey house, on the ground floor has a living room with a double sofa-bed, a bathroom with bath&shower, storage room, big fully furnished kitchen (washer, dishwasher, microwave oven etc) with dining area. There are two entry doors. On the first and second floor there are two big double bedrooms. So, it sleeps 4 people comfortably. It is possible to fit 6 people but given there is just one bathroom, better be in 4-5 people maximum. There is also an outdoor space, on the little green square you can see in the pictures. There you are free to put chairs and a table outside and enjoy dinner there or just chill out. The story began when a dear friend of ours has bought the house in sicilian countyside. After a visit we were stunned by the views, weather, sea, cultural sites and the food! We had to have a dream house in this magical rural spot with no mass tourism and warm locals!!! Calatafimi is surrounded by a wonderful and green countryside. Olive trees, orange trees and vineyards are all around making the countryside extremely relaxing and perfect for walks and small trips. The presence of water and the altitude makes Calatafimi very pleasant even during the hot month of August. In the proximity of the village you have the stunning Greek temple and theatre of Segesta; two thermal Spa, open at night as well, the seaside at only 16km (25 mins) by car including Scopello and the famous "Zingaro- natural reserve with crystal clear waters and empty beaches. Trapani, Erice, Selinunte archeological area and Mothya are within 30 mins by car as Calatafimi is located in a strategic location and everyday you will have the chance to visit wonderful places.
