Nimpo Lake is nicknamed the "Floatplane Capital of BC" and currently has a charter airline that provides a variety of services to the many visitors. Sightseeing charter flights are very popular because so much of this scenic area can only be reached by air. There are many alpine lakes in the area for camping, fishing, hunting and hiking. In summer, not a day goes by without a seaplane taking off from Nimpo Lake to take visitors on a scenic flight to the Turner Lake range, a multi-day canoe trip or a day of fishing on one of the pristine lakes. The community of Nimpo Lake is the closest to Charlotte Lake and has a general shop, gas station, bakery, restaurant and many full-service accommodations. Charlotte Lake is a little paradise on the Chilcotin Plateau, offering year-round opportunities for outdoor adventure. The view of the mountains on the south side of the lake is always different. Step outside the door and you can fish for rainbow trout in the pristine waters or venture down to Little Charlotte for some fly fishing. Kayaks, canoes and boats find a decent spot on Charlotte Lake. Fishing is a great way to spend the quiet morning hours before the wind picks up. Although the average rainbow trout weighs 4 to 5 pounds, much larger specimens are often caught. Trolling lures and flies gives the best success. Fishing is best in the narrow cove at the northwest corner of the lake where the Atnarko River drains; an ideal spot for anglers is another nearby cove with an incoming stream. Charlotte Lake is an ideal destination for the whole family, with excellent swimming, water sports, paddle boarding and even kite surfing in the afternoons. In the winter months you can go ice fishing, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing or just enjoy the tranquillity of the incredible wilderness. There is also plenty of wildlife to see in the area, including deer, moose, caribou, bears, wolves, cougars, lynx and various species of birds. ➪ Measurements: - Log cabin - 3,000 ft2 - Log house - 1,100 ft2 - Steel quonset - 2,000 ft2 - Radio shack - 100 ft2 - Utility shed - 40 ft2 - Wood shed - 200 ft2 - Garden tool shed - 260 ft2 - Firewood shed - 600 ft2 - Boathouse - 560 ft2 Log Cabin at Charlotte Lakemore...
