Original renaissance castle that was built in the 16th century and was later renovated in the baroque style with new inner court and hall (round hall with a lot of ornamentation).
Something that is very interesting and valuable is the chapel with altar and paintings of the crucifiction. Further renovations took place in the 20th century.
1969 – general reconstruction of the roof (wood and metal covering)
1983 – new plumbing, sewer pipes and electric wiring, new floor from PVC; modernization of the kitchen and social rooms, new heating.
1990 – Reconstruction of the cellar section and the wein cellar. |
| Tourism | In winter and summer this town grows to approx. 6000 inhabitants thanks to the tourists. In the winter there are many regional activities, especially skiing. In the summer many people come to hike.
Not far away is the fort Hanicka which was built during world war 2. In the city there are not enough accommodations for all the tourists, making it an ideal opportunity to use the castle as a hotel. |
