| Half-timbered house
Description:
This half-timbered house is protected under the conservation of monuments and historic buildings. It was built in 1731, and is now the oldest inhabitable house in the town. The half-timbered house was restored lovingly and has a floor space of 240 square meters. There is a garden as well as an inner court with well and natural stone plaster. The old framework remains visible in the walls and ceilings (not in the outer walls, because these were insulated for warmth). This provides the object with a very rural character. The floors are made from Italian tiles, cork parquet and parquet in the upper floor. The former hayloft was converted brightly and modernly.
Location:
Windeck-Herchen is a climatic health resort and is located in the Rhine / Sieg Kreis near Hennef. It is approx. 35 minutes from the large city of Cologne.
The property has an outstanding view of the river Sieg. The river can be reached from the property.
Infrastructure:
This is a well-developed village with doctors, a pharmacy and shops, all in the climatic health resort. Extended shopping facilities are available in Hennef in approx. 5 minutes by car.
Schools: secondary school, junior high school and elementary school as well as a kindergarden are in the town.
Object description:
The house was restored piece by piece, replacing rotten framework with old oak beams and modern house technology and insulation. This means a modern house exists under its old appearances. It has modern electricity, sanitation and heating installations that correspond with the most modern standards.
Heating:
Window installations have insulating glazing (k=1,3) and shutters. The roof insulation has 18 mms of mineral wool. The wall insulation is possible with half-timbered houses, not with outside insulation. Therefore, interior insulation with plates (50 mms) was installed.
A gas central heating system (Vissmann Litola centilitre, 6% of waste gas loss) also exists.
Floor coverings:
The ground floor has Italian tiles, cork parquet and parquet.
Roof:
The saddleback hay flap has remained visible because it was converted with a firm glaze.
