| History:
The castle was a feudal estate until 1945 and then was expropriated. From the until 1980 it was used as state-owned property. From 1980 it was used as an academy for the agricultural sciences. Afterwards, it was used as a nursery, for dwelling purposes, as the office of the mayor, for the waste water association, as a youth club, and a home association. Now these associations are all gone because I would like to have it empty for sales. It will be handed over at the end of August completely empty. The house was built as 6-axeled arrangement with 2 stories and a mansard roof in 1777.
The castle was the property of the family of Wurm.
In 1782 the castle became the property of the duke of Weimar. He gave it to his " sächsich-weimarischen chancelor " from Koppenfels.
The inner court is marked with the initials of the chancelor and his wife:
JFK - in 1777 - MCK
Johann Frederick von Koppenfels Marie Christiane von Koppenfels
Born 22/06/1738 and 26/03/1748
Died 19/09/1811
Married 17/11/1763
At the back in the gable (court side) is the coat of arms " Koppenfels u. Saxon Weimar ".
Inside of the castle are pillars supporting the front stairs with a smithy-iron railing which is an original. In the former kitchen are 4 cross vaults resting on a little Doris pillar.
In approx. 1900 a 2-story cultivation with a small stair tower was built in the Renaissance style.
With an expenditure of approx. 100 TM, the restoration took place from 1981-1984 under the collaboration of the enterprises: master carpenter H. Vogel, master mason H. Buchel, roofing master H. Kielmann, electrician g. Tischer, plumber J. Hupel u. S. Rauch, master locksmith H. Wilhelm, master plasterer K. Leschner.
Approx. 5000 work hours were invested in addition by the assistants of the academy.
