| Location:
The manor house has a unique, historic location out in the open marshland. The house can be seen from far away. The garden is similar to a park that rises out of the north-Frisian landscape. The castle is between the capital Husum and Bad Saint Peter-Ording.
Description:
In the two-story east wing are the main living quarters. The powerful door leads to the entrance hall. In the tower, a stair from the cellar leads to the upper floor where one finds the knight's hall and library.
The rooms in the west wing of the manor house are now used as 5 holiday apartments that are decorated in a pleasant style. They have antique fire-places and lovely alcoves. The rooms were renovated in 1984-85.
An annex of approx. 680 m ² built-over surface was built in 1704 and was used for keeping cattle since then. The object was restored in 1988 as a monument.
Extras:
The manor house is already used for many purposes, like for cultural events, concerts, etc. The building is extremely well-suited as a seminar house and holiday home.
Just like all castles, this one has quite a history. |
