This mill is a 5-story Dutch windmill. It is on a property of 998 square meters that is mainly empty, open field. It is just 70 m from the street. The next house is 100 m away.
There is also a 2-story building.

The windmill itself was built in 1906 and was run until 1980 as a mill.
In 1984 the reconstruction began to make it into a dwelling-house. Details include:
Ground floor:
- entrance area with subsequent office of 33 square meters

- heating shed and other effective area of 60 square meters
1st upper floor:

Mill head (21 square meters). Here the original technology has been partly maintained. For example, the impressive cogwheel still exists. This floor is suitable for the installation of a generator. Then you could supply the house with your own electricity and heating. This project has already begun in theory and practice. In order to finish the project, you must be willing to climb and hang the sails. Practical demonstration and installation is possible.
Currently the warmth is produced in the mill through oil-heating.
Consumption: approx. 6000 liters per year. Capacity of the oil tank is 4500 liters.
The water is heated by a flow-heater.
Water supply: connection and fountain.
The connection with the central waste water system was installed in October, 2000.
Electricity and DSL-telephone connections exist!
All doors and windows were renewed in 1999.
Reorganization of the mill head and renewal of the wind rose and wings took place in 1993.
Renewal of the mill building happened in 1997.
The mill trunk was recovered in 1989.
All flat roof were resurfaced in September, 2000 and new gutters were mounted.
In 2002 the brick-work was cleaned.
The floor coverings in the ground floor consist of tiles. In the living area there is under-floor heating.
In the upper floors there are parquet floors.
The bath in the ground floor was redeveloped in 1999. In the 2nd floor it was redeveloped in 2002.
All paths were replaced after the connection to the main sewer system.
Part of the land has grid plates and part has cobblestones.
The plantation of the property began in 1984 and has been continuously extended since.
Fruit-trees, birches, oaks, beeches, lime-trees, poplars, maple, pines, spruces, hollunder, etc. exist on the land.
Also on the property is a small herb garden and a pool with a diameter of 4.5 meters and a depth to 1,2 meters.
The object lies 15 kms east of the Rostock city center.
The distance to A 19 is 10 kms.
The beaches of Warnemünde, Graal-Müritz and Dierhagen/Darß are each 30 kms away and can be reached in approx. 40 min. |
